Badminton Scotland have changed the rules regarding membership needs prior to being allowed to enter any ranking event or play in a local league.

Also, most of the larger ranking tournaments now have moved to online entry and payment, paper entries are becoming less popular, this method will not function unless the player has a valid Badminton Scotland membership and an SC number. You also need an SC number on a paper entry.

It is therefore essential that all players considering playing ranking tournaments have a valid SC number prior to entering any events. Below is a really short explanation of what is required and what the codes mean:

  1. Club managed or individual membership of Badminton Scotland:

    1. As part of your membership fee paid to ABA is your Badminton Scotland membership (£10/junior, £15/adult). The club passes this money to Badminton Scotland which registers you on their database, JUSTGO (JG).

    2. You can also take out an individual membership directly with Badminton Scotland if you are not a paid up member of the club or pay as you go.

    3. Members of the Regional Performance Squad have individual membership paid as part of the fees for the RPS

  2. JUSTGO: Once step 1 is completed everyone needs to create a personal JUSTGO account, this is done via the Badminton Scotland homepage using the link on the left. This step creates the first code associated with each player, the ME number, which shows you are a member of Badminton Scotland. If you have no intention of playing competitive badminton you can stop here.

  3. Tournament software (TS): Once you have completed step 2 and have an ME number future competitive players must create a TS account, again, this is done via the Badminton Scotland homepage using the link on the right. You use the ME code to prove your membership and once complete you have an SC number and an account which lets you see rankings and also complete online entries to tournaments.

Here are a couple of key links to help and provide more background information if needed:
